Winter Style Guide: A Pop of Pastel

T.S. Eliot may have claimed that April is the cruelest month, but every year come February, I can't help but think he was mistaken. The ground is frozen, the streets are salt and slush-filled (guaranteeing any shoe choice will be ruined within ten minutes of walking) and the lack of daylight is downright depressing. It's not unusual for me to call it quits, style-wise, at this point in the winter, and reach for my black Uggs and parka on a daily basis.
This year, I'm challenging myself in different ways to try to make winter dressing fun. Whether it be daring to bare my ankles in cropped jeans or, in this case, injecting a pop of pastel into my look with a statement oversized coat (perfect for layering body suits and chunky sweaters underneath), I'll be posting a series of looks that are at once chic and practical over the next few weeks, to help inspire and challenge us all (myself included!) to get through the months ahead in style.
